is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), developed and published by Square Enix. Infamously, the initial 2010 launch of the game was so poorly received that the Square Enix CEO issued the following statement: "The Final Fantasy brand has been greatly damaged."

In 2013, after an in-game apocalypse to mark the closing of the servers the previous year, A Realm Reborn launched with director and producer Naoki Yoshida at the helm. Since then, the game has become become the most profitable game in the series. As of 2026, there are 5 expansions (Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, Endwalker and Dawntrail with Evercold slated to release next year) and a free trial that allows players through Shadowbringers (which I still find so shocking, they just let you play some of the best story this game has to offer for free???).

I've been playing since September 2020 and have logged over 5000 hours of playtime... yikes! All this to say, it's one of my favorite games and I'll use this page to talk about all the things I love about it! I'm also hoping to consolidate all my thoughts on my own Warriors of Light in one place.
